About
Hi, my name is Sophie. I am a Osteopath currently based in Colchester and West Mersea.

I graduated with a first class masters degree from the European School of Osteopathy. I have additional qualifications in sports massage and medical acupuncture.
As an Osteopath I use a range of hands on techniques, rehab and advice to help my patients towards feeling their best selves.

I run a clinic in the salon Blush located on West Mersea, on a Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm also a practitioner at The Point Clinic, Colchester.

What is Osteopathy?
Osteopaths are allied health professionals, specialised in the musculoskeletal system.
Osteopaths will use a wide variety of hands-on techniques that focus on releasing tension, improving mobility and optimising function, together with providing advice and exercise if required.
What will an Osteopathic consultation look like?
Osteopaths believe in treating each individual patient as a whole, which is why we take our time to listen to our patients and assess them thoroughly to create an individualised treatment plan.

We will start off with the case history; asking patients about their presenting complaint, lifestyle and medical health. We will then move on to examination, where you may be asked to dress down to an appropriate level (of course only to a level you’re comfortable with, so I recommended wearing appropriate flexible clothing). This all will help to make an accurate diagnosis and a suitable tailored treatment plan.
Its important to note osteopaths are trained to screen for any red flags or implications to refer to other healthcare professionals, to ensure you receive optimum care.
What do Osteopaths treat?
Osteopathy can help treat:

Please feel free to contact me to see if osteopathy is right for you.
Training & Registration
To become an Osteopath and gain a Masters of Osteopathy degree, I attended the European School of Osteopathy for 4 years, 2 of them spent in a teaching clinic.
Osteopaths are regulated by law and must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council to practise in the UK, and undergo continuous professional development (CPD).
Sports Massage
I also have a qualification in sports massage. I apply sports massage techniques into my osteopathic treatments if suitable. I also offer sports massage appointments. However, as an Osteopath I will still assess you as described above and discuss an appropriate treatment plan with you!
